I’m writing with thanks and congratulations, first, to the Political Education Committee for organizing a great rally and sit-in. And second, huge thanks to all UPI members, students, neighbors and our co-workers who gathered together in support of ending class cancellations.
I prematurely gave the Retired Unionist of the Day Award to Ken Addison for coming out with us. He gets to keep it, but he’s got to share with Sarah Hoagland and Nancy Sreenan who joined us too.
(Who else did I miss?)
Get ready for the NEIU Board of Trustees this Thursday @ 1:00 in Golden Eagles.
And be there next Thursday, 11/20, 3:00-4:30 in Golden Eagles for an open meeting of the UPI. We will commemorate and reflect on the 2004 Strike, plan forward to the conclusion of our current negotiations, and present the union’s understanding of the financial condition of the university.
I think you’ll find our numbers will actually add up!
