Please Encourage Students to Register for Spring and Promote the Forwarded Message Below: One Stop Enrollment Express to be held next Weds, Nov. 18

HEY ALL UPI FOLK!

In classes, when advising, helping someone find a source in the library–whenever you have contact with students–ask if they have registered for Spring and without panicking them encourage them to do so.

Teachers, please announce and talk about students registering for Spring in your classes. Try to hit on it at least once a week and rev it up right now! If you can be cool and do it every time class meets, go for it. Direct people to advising or their advisors if you can’t help them with a question.

We will be getting some fliers up and the UPI is working with Academic Affairs to get people registered and to retain them. Let’s have a no blame semester, work together, and hang strong on our teaching mission as we wait to get beyond Rauner Madness.

Want to get started? Please start talking to students this week and direct them to the event below.

One Stop Enrollment Express
Wednesday, November 18, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Main Campus, Alumni Hall

Remember: we are everything for our students and we have to be everything more so than ever right now!

We are not just doing this for school, or for us as a union of professionals, or even just for our students. This is about public higher education and protecting the social value of the liberal arts and sciences and the professions.

Let’s get out there, say no to and kick the mediocre butt that is putatively leading our state, and make this place not simply great but better than ever!

Let’s get our students registered.

In solidarity,

Sophia
