ACTION ALERT THIS WEEK (And Some Fun): Winter Fest for Public Higher ED and TABLING Wed and Th

Hey UPI:

We are tabling in Village Square this week Wednesday 12/2 and Thursday 12/3, 11:00-3:00 with a Fund Our Future postcard campaign to ask for MAP (Monetary Awards Program) Funding from the State. And, we’ve got a get out the registration campaign going for our students from 12:00-2:00. We’ll have Academic Advisors and reps from Enrollment Services to do on-the-spot registering for our students tomorrow and Thursday.

PLEASE SEND YOUR STUDENTS DOWN OR BRING THEM TO SIGN CARDS AND REGISTER!

We would love to have too much volume, and if you did a little break from class to bring everyone down we would love it even more!

Want to do cards in your classes? Email Tim at T-Barnett1@neiu.edu or come see if we have any at the table.

AND ANNOUNCE TO STUDENTS and BE THERE for WINTER FEST 3:00-4:30, Th 12/3 in Golden Eagles!

We will have games, food and cider, tunes, speakers and an open mic for funding public higher education in the State of Illinois. John Miller, UPI Local President with a legislative update will be our guest speaker and Provost Helldobler is going to speak in support of access, the MAP funding campaign, and for our public university.

We will be finishing up the card campaign at Winter Fest. We have over a thousand thus far and we are shooting to at least double that.

Many of us at NEIU and around the state are writing to our legislators to demand that Illinois fulfill its promise to public university students and their families with a rapid and adequate infusion of state funds to public universities.

We are united—faculty, administrators, unions, staff, and students—in support of public higher education.

It’s our mission, it’s who we are, and NEIU/UPI’s Winter Party is going university-wide this year.

ASK YOUR STUDENTS, STAFF, CHAIRS AND SUPERVISORS TO JOIN US THURSDAY AT 3:00 IN GOLDEN EAGLES AND BE THERE YOURSELF FOR THIS EVENT!

In solidarity,
