MUST DO NOW: hand out fliers in class and talk to your students!

Hey UPI:

Why are we handing out fliers in classes to address the budget impasse with to-do steps?

We need to start conversations with our students: NOW!

It’s a tough spot–right? We don’t want to scare and panic our students, but we are at a point where they need to be aware of the problems facing public higher ed in Illinois and they need to act! We need numbers.

We can’t think reason will prevail here: we have to assert our collective power.

Have you asked Chuck or Tim for copies of the flier? Please do! We need to start buzz this week and follow up on it next week when MAP funding is passed and sent to the governor.

You can contact Chuck Steinwedel at C-Steinwedel@neiu.edu and/or Tim Barnett at T-Barnett1@neiu.edu. They are coordinating distribution. Let them know how many you will need and where your mailbox is and they will deliver them!

Links are below and PDFs are attached.

Report back! I’ve been hearing there’s good energy in classes when the fliers are handed out. Teach and learn. That’s what we are all about. Let us know how you are doing!!
