For all of us finishing up our classes this week, this is a very important time. We need to reach out to our students and urge them to register for fall now and for summer as well. Could you email your outgoing students and look at your lists for summer students and email them too?
This is sort of our Spiderman moment–his mantra is with great power comes great responsibility. Let’s invert that for each of us: with the darn near sacred responsibility of teaching our students at NEIU, we have great power. We’ve been there together with them for–at least!–a semester. The new summer folks are anxious to meet you. Email them now and urge registration. (If you have a ton graduating this spring, congratulate them in the blanket email and thank all of our spring students for sacrificing time as we have sacrificed pay this semester.)
After you tell them how much you appreciate and respect them, do you need some talking points in your message to help make the process easier? Try these! And thanks for all of the work everyone!!
- You should register early to insure you get the classes that you need to stay on track.
- If you have a HOLD on your account and can’t register, it can be removed if you set up a repayment plan. Go to Student Payment Services to work this out. If you go to Enrollment Services, on the way to the Village Square, they can direct you to Payment Services.
- If you have not yet done so, please fill out a FAFSA form to see if you are eligible for financial aid. Go to http://www.neiu.edu/financial-aid/applying-for-federal-state-assistance
- Want to make enrolling for Fall and Summer super easy? You can go to One Stop Enrollment Express, May 18, 2016, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Alumni Hall.
