EVENTS Tomorrow and Thursday for Our UPI and NEIU Missions

Greetings all:

And first, big thanks to everyone who was at today’s Membership Meeting and ready to work together as we make our plans and move forward. Nice way to turn a meeting into an action! (Photo evidence coming soon!!)

I’m writing now with two things to support our UPI and NEIU missions.

First, there’s a film on public higher education showing tomorrow night at 5:00 at the Gene Siskel Film Center, Starving the Beast. Check this out and call to see if tickets are still available for the film and discussion afterward. I think there will be tickets, and NEIU/UPI will refund the first 20 people we hear from. Email if you plan to go and then bring back a receipt. Take buddies and students. We need to rev up and renew our thinking and analyses.

Second, please circulate the announcement below to students, bring a crowd of them and bring yourselves to a session this Thursday 11/17, 3:05-5:00 Alumni Hall South for Healing/Moving Forward: A Critical Post Election Dialogue. This was presented at the meeting today and big thanks to our faculty organizing the conversation.

Not only is the sun still coming up each day. We are still NEIU and we will always be the miracle and delight in public higher ed we have committed ourselves to!

I am so proud to know our school is in good hands–namely, YOURS!!
