Subject: One week left to register for the Learn & Lead Symposium
If you have not yet registered for sessions of your choice at the Fourth Annual Learn & Lead Symposium, you have one more week to do so. Registration closes Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. You may register for as many sessions or as few sessions as you like, on one, two, or all three days.
The conference is Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 30, 31, and Feb. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union (Rooms 214, 215, 216, and 217). You may check the box for lunch on the days you register for and attend one or more sessions. (Registering for the free lunch is optional.) Follow the link below, or cut and paste it into your browser. If you are asked for a password, it’s neiu.
The Learn & Lead Symposium is Northeastern’s official professional development conference for everyone employed by the University. All sessions are created by our own faculty, staff, and administrative professionals. It’s an opportunity to come together as a community, learn and discuss, and also support each other in challenging times.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR SUPERVISORS: Because the Learn & Lead Symposium is the official NEIU professional development conference, all supervisors are to permit their employees to attend sessions during the day, provided there is sufficient coverage in the office. Employees should not be asked to take vacation or personal time to attend the conference.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR EVERYONE: The symposium is organized and presented by many dedicated NEIU volunteers — staff and faculty — at minimal cost to the University. Funding for some materials and catering is provided by the President’s Office through Great Service Matters and by the Office of Academic Affairs. Materials are also donated by several offices as well as the planning committee volunteers themselves. Recognizing that many of our employees greatly appreciate the lunch provided, we are continuing to offer the free lunch for those who register for and attend sessions. (Registering for the free lunch is optional.) Any leftover food is given to students.
