Welcome Back All (and get busy on this): NEIU Buses to Teach-Out for Higher Ed in Springfield Thurs, April 27

We have a Membership Meeting today at 3:00 in BBH 101 and students back in classes to get on the bus!

Please commit yourselves by signing up below and give students plans for assignments in Springfield and for those who stay behind. (We will have some film showings for students who can’t make Springfield and to help you with alternative plans.)

Remember, this is an agreed upon day of engaged learning. Please: no exams on April 27 or projects due on that date.

All students are excused to take this engaged pedagogical option.

Dear UPI, Students, Faculty and Staff:

We are inviting you to a university-wide field trip! Students and faculty from across the state will be in Springfield on Thursday, April 27 for a Teach-Out for Higher Education.

All NEIU students attending are excused from class because your curriculum will be in the Statehouse on the 27th. Everyone is encouraged to bring family and friends–it will be great to have children there–but everyone must register to ride the bus! Kids, parents, friends significant others–we want each and all–but each of us has to follow the link below and sign up as an individual.

Buses will leave from Lot F on the NEIU Campus at 7:30 am for the day’s events in Springfield. Buses will leave Springfield at 3:00 pm to return to NEIU.

Here’s the link. Please sign-up asap!

NEIU/UPI wants to thank the American Federation of Teachers for their support–providing buses and in many other ways. And we want to thank the administration and all of the university for supporting this day of engaged learning.

In unity,
